On
February 5, 2009 Young New Yorkers for the Philharmonic held their
winter benefit, A Mid-Winter's Eve at the Raquet & Tennis
Club in New York City. The evening began with a concert at Lincoln
Center's Avery Fisher Hall consisting of an all Mendelssohn program.
Conductor Kurt Masur led the New York Philharmonic in a performance
featuring violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter, mezzo-soprano Christine Knorren,
tenor Jorma Silvasti, bass-baritone Albert Dohmen, bass Thorsten Grümbel,
and the Westminster Symphonic Choir, directed by Joe Miller.
