On
Saturday, August 29, 2009, The Watermill Center held its annual fundraising
concert Last Song of Summer at the Fieldhouse at the Ross School Lower
School campus in Bridgehampton.
Rufus Wainwright and Norah Jones, two
of today's celebrated pop artists, headlined the concert which began
with a set by the highly acclaimed singersongwriter Martha Wainwright,
who showcased material from her new project of rare Edith Piaf songs,
a collaboration with Hal Wilner. The event started with cocktails and
DJ Mel DeBarge at 4:30 pm. Singer-songwriter Martha Wainwright took the
stage at 5 pm, followed by headliners Rufus Wainwright with his special
guest Norah Jones at 5:45 pm.
Guests included Isabella Rossellini, Mary-Louise
Parker, Terence Koh, Kate McGarrigle, Faith Popcorn, Lisa Yuskavage and
Zaldy, along with co-chairs Lisa Anastos, Martin Dawson, Amanda Hearst,
Dalia Oberlander and Arden Wohl.
