Themed
after the special exhibition Georgia O'Keeffe and Ansel
Adams: Natural Affinities, the Premiere Event, hosted by the
Palm-Beach based Norton Museum of Art on January 22, 2009, was an environmentally
friendly evening, designed to celebrate the beauty in nature and
the deep commitment to the American Landscape that these two iconic
artists share. All aspects of the evening emphasized the importance
of going “green”. The collateral materials were printed
in soy ink on recycled paper, the décor will be recycled and
reused, and the food served came from local produce vendors.
The Premiere Event chairman wasMrs. Annie Falk and the Dinner chairmen

Georgia O'Keeffe and Ansel Adams: Natural Affinities,
on view January 22 through May 3, 2009, explores how both artists
intensely focused their attention on beauty in nature and transformed
these elements with color and tone. The exhibition includes 40
O'Keeffe paintings and 54 Adams photographs.
