On
Saturday, September 20, 2008, the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO)
hosted its annual Season Opening Ball to inaugurate the 2008-2009
artistic season at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. Itzhak Perlman
led the NSO in a breathtaking performance, joined by Israeli violinist
Pinchas Zukerman, who has received worldwide applaud for his infectious
style, and the young cellist Alisa Weilerstein, a virtuoso hailed
for her expressive range. The evening continued with an elegant dinner
and dancing under a pavilion on the Kennedy Center's South Plaza.
The 2008 Season Opening Ball chairs are Eleanor Chabraja and Nicholas
Chabraja and Adrienne Arsht.
