On
April 9, 2009, Porsche hosted the
10th Annual East Side House Settlement Gala Preview of the 2009 New
York International Auto Show. Over 1,200 guests attended this
glamorous evening, which included a special Porsche exhibition, a private
preview of the entire auto show, a cocktail gala for the benefit committee
and a dinner for sponsors and benefactors. The evening's
highlight was the live auction of a 2010 Porsche 911
GT3 by George McNeely from Christie's. The
car, which will retail for $112,000, sold for an exciting $150,000
on the night. The event was chaired by Joan
P. Young, Philip L. Yang, Jr. and Michael Moreno. The benefit
committee was chaired by Kipton Cronkite, Paige Hardy and Tatiana Platt. The
evening raised $500,000 for East Side House Settlement. The event was
made possible through the generosity of the Greater New York Automobile
Dealers Association and the New York International Auto Show.
