On
Tuesday, September 9, MoMA hosted a reception to
celebrate the opening of three new exhibitions: Here is Every.
Four Decades of Contemporary Art (September 10, 2008–
March 30, 2009), New Photography 2008: Josephine Meckseper and
Mikhael Subotzky (September 10, 2008–January 5,
2009), and Projects 88: Lucy
McKenzie (September 10, 2008–December 1, 2008).
Here is Every. Four Decades of Contemporary Art, the fifth
in a series of installations in the Museum's second floor Contemporary
Galleries, maps a narrative through the art of the recent past and
includes works of film, photography, paintings, sculpture, drawing,
and video.
New Photography is the annual fall showcase of significant
recent work in contemporary photography. This year's exhibition
features the work of Josephine Meckseper and Mikhael
Subotzky.
For Projects 88, Lucy McKenzie, with the help of fashion
designer Beca Lipscombe and illustrator Bernie
Reid, has transformed
a gallery into a room that emulates the décor of a turn-of-the-century
library to display McKenzie's paintings and prints that were
recently acquired by the Museum.
