O. Hiltz, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Lenox Hill Hospital, thanked
more than 900 guests at the elegant Waldorf-Astoria’s Grand Ballroom
on Monday November 9, 2009 and saluted the Autumn Ball Vice Chairs: Deborah
and Allen Grubman; Pat and Ed Gutman; and Drs. Virgie and Marty Ellington,
whose leadership helped raise over $2.2 million dollars, an outstanding
feat in our new economy.

All were
gathered to salute Dr. Armando Grassi, Chairman Emeritus, Department
of Neonatology and Pediatrics in recognition of his 30 years of remarkable
service to Lenox Hill Hospital’s most precious patients. Dr. Grassi
was bestowed the hospital’s Medal of Distinction for building a
world-class center for newborn babies with life-threatening illnesses.
Dr. Grassi now joins an impressive list of past Lenox Hill Hospital Medal
of Distinction awardees including Robin Roberts, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis,
Beverly Sills, Lena Horne, Neil Simon, Alan Alda, Carol Burnett, Harry
Belafonte, Joe Namath, Katie Couric, John McEnroe, Tom Brokaw, Julie
Andrews, Bette Midler, and Al Roker and Deborah Roberts.
