On
Monday, October 20, 400 friends of God's Love We Deliver attended
its Golden Heart Awards Celebration at the IAC Building in New York
City.
The Golden Heart Award honors those members of the corporate and
philanthropic communities who demonstrate extraordinary and exemplary
philanthropy and ongoing civic responsibility. This year
the honorees were: Harry Slatkin,
president, Home Design Limited Brands, and president of Slatkin & Co;
7th on Sale, the fashion industry's hallmark HIV/AIDS fundraising
event; and Roz
Gilbert, a dedicated God's Love volunteer since 1992.
Since 1985, God's Love We Deliver has worked to improve the
health and well being of men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS,
cancer and other life altering illnesses by alleviating hunger and
malnutrition. What began with a few meals delivered to an individual
suffering from the effects of HIV/AIDS has grown to include nutrition
counseling and the delivery of over 3,200 meals each weekday--nearly
10 million since our founding. All services are provided free
of charge and there has never been a waiting list.
