San Francisco Symphonix at San Francisco City Hall.
The
Symphonix Opening Night Gala and Dinner took place on September 9, 2009
at San Francisco City Hall. Over 300 dynamic young professionals, who
all share a budding interest in music and one of the world’s greatest
symphony orchestras enjoyed a fabulous evening of dinner and dancing.
The evening’s highlight was a performance by pianist Lang Lang, named
one of the “sexiest men in the world” by People Magazine. Michelle Curtis
and Christopher Contos were Symphonix Dinner co-chairs.
Gala chair Michelle Curtis wore a custom-made black organdy gown by Emily Jane,
accessorized by Haute Bride. Her co-chair, Christopher Contos donned
a Ted Baker tuxedo, slippers by Taryn Rose and Dechainee cufflinks by
Boucheron. Showing family support, Roberta Economidis stated “I went
to Neiman’s and purchased a Grecian style Badgley Mischka gown in honor
of my Greek cousin chairing the gala.” Symphonix president Kathryn Pellegrini
Inglin wore a strapless sapphire Carmen Marc Valvo gown with a black
beaded empire waist; husband Damian chose Roberto Zanieri. Not to be
outdone by the Greek family pride, Kathryn’s father Richard Pellegrini
was in a black Zegna tuxedo, with a Stefano Ricci black long tie and
vest accented by rhinestones, a white hankie with pressed points (not
a puff), and black Todds patent leather shoes. Janet Pellegrini was in
San Francisco’s own Lily Samii.
“Taking more of a risk and going for ‘elegance with an 80’s edge” Kelly Grimes
was modeling a strapless black Alexander McQueen Couture with a hot pink belt.
Kelly accessorized with her grandmother’s ring from Gump’s, Judith Ripka, and
Jimmy Choos. Libby Leffler wore Monique Lhullier, complemented by a Judith Leiber “Barbie
Silhouette” clutch and more Jimmy Choos. Proving that men have a place in the
fashion game as well, Kevin Whittaker wore a Blind Bunney Couture ascot from
his new line, accented by a Cavalli suit.
