On
Wednesday June 24, 2009, New York City Opera held its 2009 DIVAS Shop
for Opera event at City Opera's Pop Up Shop in New York City.
Isabel and Ruben Toledo, Patricia Field, Faith Hope Consolo, Rebecca
Taylor, Elsa Klensch and Lorry Newhouse were event co-chairs. Lydia
Fenet, Mary Giuliani and Natasha Wolff were Young Patron co-chairs.
Guests who attended the special evening shopped from a diverse selection
of deeply discounted, alluring merchandise–valued at over one
million dollars–donated by a long list of fabulous designers. Merchandise
this year included: Alice + Olivia, Carmen Marc Valvo, Dolce & Gabbana,
Tamsen Z by Ann Ziff, MacKenzie-Childs, Oscar de la Renta, Nanette
Lepore, Prada Rubin Singer, Chado Ralph Rucci, Tuleh, DKNY, Luca Luca
and many more.
While shopping, guest enjoyed specialty cocktails by Chopin Vodka
including the delectable Pear and Ginger Mule, Prima Donna and Chopin's
Encore. Georges Duboeuf served two Diva-worthy wines: Mâcon-Villages
Vintage 2007and Fleurie Vintage 2007. Throughout the evening guests
feasted on hors d'oeuvres by Mary Giuliani Catering & Events.
