On
Thursday, October 1, 2009, celebrated designer, and FIESTA honoree, Nancy
Gonzalez hosted a cocktail party to kick off Casita Maria’s annual
FIESTA. The party took place in her showroom where guests toasted to
FIESTA and enjoyed viewing the stunning Nancy Gonzalez handbags on display.
The evening also honored Jacqueline Weld Drake, Aileen Mehle, Prince
Dimitri of Yugoslavia, Blair Clark, Dana Gers, Lauren Goodman and the
Casita Maria Fiesta and Pachanga Committees.

Casita’s
Maria’s FIESTA will take place on October 13 at the Mandarin Oriental
Hotel. The black-tie dinner dance will celebrate the organization’s
75th year of service and the completion of the new Casita Maria Center
for Arts and Education, which officially opened its doors on October
2 with a ribbon cutting ceremony. This year’s FIESTA will honor
Adrienne Arsht, Lorenza Dipp de Torres Lample and Nancy Gonzalez with
the Gold Medal of Honor for their extraordinary accomplishments and humanitarian
contributions to the community at large and to the Hispanic community
in particular.
