On
April 20, 2009, Ballet Hispanico, the preeminent Hispanic-American
dance organization in the United States, hosted its annual Black Slipper
Ball – a celebration of the rich heritage and cultural achievements
of Hispanic-Americans. This year's event was held at The
Plaza and feature superb cuisine, a world-class performance and
dancing for everyone. A special performance highlighted the evening
followed by a Latin Dance Party.
The Ball honored Ballet Hispanico founder and artistic director, Tina
Ramirez, who received the Ballet Hispanico Dance Inspiration
Award. Jody Gottfried Arnhold and Michelle Caruso Cabrera were Dinner
chairmen. Ballet Hispanico's Black Slipper Ball will benefit
the organization's dance education programs.
