On
Monday, April 27, 2009, the American Friends of the Israel Museum (AFIM)
held its Spring Luncheon at The Metropolitan Club in New York City.
Eleanor Cayre, Allison Rubler, and Pam Sanders were event chairs. The
luncheon raised $250,000.
The 280 guests enjoyed a private viewing of The Pictures Generation at
the Metropolitan Museum of Art. From there they were treated to a seated
luncheon at the Metropolitan Club with a panel discussion moderated
by the exhibition curator Doug Eklund. Panel artist participants
Robert Longo, David Salle and Laurie Simmons discussed the art scene
in New York in the 70's and early 80's.
