Maggie Norris is a consummate artist, infused with a passion that has taken her to the very height of design:Couture, a world where art and beauty meld into a dialogue of craft and expertise. Maggie's journey began at Ralph Lauren, where she ascended the corporate ladder to become the Senior Fashion Designer in charge of the Women's Collection. There she perfected her skills and traveled the world for inspiration and beauty of all kinds, from rare French lace to African masks. Soon after her departure from Ralph Lauren, Maggie moved to Europe to lead Mondi's design studio.
Utilizing her knowledge of fashion and incomparable taste, she launched Maggie Norris Couture upon her return to the United States in 2000. Employing American artisans to produce her collections domestically in her Atelier, Maggie's creations evoke a sense of luxury to the marketplace. Her devotion to design remains unwavering as she traverses the world for inspiration. "My affinity to the Haute Couture craftsmanship is because of its unyielding perfection," Maggie Norris said. Maggie's Couture Collections are available in the best retail establishments worldwide.
Maggie was included in the "New York Fashion Now" Exhibition at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, which ran from April 17th through September 23rd, 2007.
In May, 2008, Maggie entered the world of accessories by introducing a line of luxurious water carriers. Inspired by the Louis and Clark Expedition and crafted of the finest leathers, these water carriers feature Maggie's wish to incorporate her love of history into her line of accessories.
The Suki Obi Cummerbunds constitute Maggie's second line of accessories. Composed of 100% silk taffeta and designed with a corseted front and back to sculpt and flatter the silhouette, these Napoleonic-inspired belts represent the perfect addition to any woman's existing wardrobe.
While Couture remains an integral part of Maggie's business, she is proud to introduce the Bespoke Shirting Collection, a unique collection of ready-to-wear women's shirts that combines the feel of Old World haberdashery with the style and sophistication her clients have come to expect. Maggie has mixed the quality of Couture with ready-to-wear seamlessly, yet she is still a firm believer of the utmost quality.
